American Idol alum Ada Vox (aka Adam Sanders) is back with a brand new single, “Because of You.”

The drag star, who hails from San Antonio, rose to fame astounding audiences on Idol with her takes on classics such as Jennifer Holiday’s “And I Am Telling You,” The Animals’ “House of the Rising Sun” and Radiohead’s “Creep.”

After auditioning 12 times, Vox decided it was time to try out as her drag persona and got the green light last year when she auditioned in drag.

Even though Ada didn’t win the competition, she became the first drag queen to place in Idol‘s top eight.

Idol judge Lionel Richie told Vox, upon her departure from the show, “Listen, I want to sayyou have to know how special this is to have you on this show. You are a movement unto yourself. I am telling you, I’m so proud of you, keep it up my dear, it’s fantastic.

Vox’s new single is now available for download on iTunes and is currently streaming on Spotify.
