Get in girls, we’re going to Vegas!
Just when we couldn’t get enough of our favorite RuPaul’s Drag Race stars, its Emmy-winning host, RuPaul, announced the latest expansion of the franchise in the form of a Vegas spinoff.
The six-episode reality show, Vegas Revue, follows season 11 winner Yvie Oddly, season 10 runners-ups Asia O’Hara and Kameron Michaels, All Stars alums Derrick Barry and Naomi Smalls, as well as Alexis Mateo’s drag daughter Vanessa “Vangie” Mateo as they attempt to get “RuPaul’s Drag Race Live!” off the ground in Sin City.
The Vegas show, which debuted in early January at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, was shot before the COVID-19 pandemic forced it to close down prematurely in March
Departures from the franchise’s flagship competition series, Drag Race, has proven a difficult sell when ventured into alone by RuPaul. His daytime talk show, short-lived Gay For Play game show and Netflix show, AJ and the Queen, were met with mixed reviews and were ultimately cancelled.
Vegas Revue debuts on VH1 at 8 p.m. on August 21.
